Two years ago the UK oncology funding landscape changed with the launch of the new Cancer Drugs Fund (CDF). The new fund not only provides early access to promising treatments through Managed Access Agreements but also interim funding to newly NICE recommended oncology drugs, prior to NHS routine commissioning. By understanding the full appraisal process manufacturers can maximise early funding opportunities and take the lead in ensuring successful NICE appraisals.
